Removables
Acrylic Partials

Acrylic partials are a dependable removable solution designed for comfort, adaptability, and budget-friendly treatment planning --- but the way we make them sets them apart.
At Derby, we separate this category into two clear groups:
- Flippers (1-3 teeth) -- simple, lightweight appliances used for short-term or transitional solutions.
- Acrylic partials (4+ teeth) -- more involved removable solutions designed to support multiple missing teeth with greater stability and adaptability.
Unlike traditional hand-packed or poured acrylic partials, ours are digitally designed and 3D printed, giving you better consistency, cleaner margins, and a more refined fit. We can build these from an intraoral scan or a traditional impression, making them easy to integrate into digital or analog workflows.
These restorations are lightweight, easy to adjust, and can incorporate wire clasps for retention.
Turnaround
- Standard turnaround: Flippers - 3 days in lab / Partials - 5 days in lab
- Try-in (if utilized): additional 3 days
Rush scheduling depends on case complexity and records submitted.

FAQ
How do you define a flipper versus an acrylic partial?
For our workflows, a flipper is a removable appliance replacing 1-3 teeth, while an acrylic partial is used when there are 4 or more teeth involved. This helps set expectations for design, complexity, and case planning.
Is this meant to be a temporary or long-term solution?
It can function in both roles. Many patients use acrylic partials as interim options during staged treatment, but they can also serve as longer-term removable solutions depending on the case. Flippers are commonly used as short-term solutions.
Can it be relined or repaired?
Yes. 3D printed acrylic partials can be repair, reline, or modify.
What makes your version different from a traditional acrylic partial?
Ours are digitally designed and 3D printed, giving them cleaner fit, better consistency, and access to printed retention designs.
Do I need physical impressions?
No --- we can work from intraoral scans or traditional impressions.
Can patients expect adjustments?
Most cases require light chairside refinement, especially after healing or staged procedures.
Can this be converted later into something permanent?
Absolutely. These work well in staged or evolving treatment plans, including implant planning.
