Eclipse Chairside Procedures Guide

FINAL IMPRESSIONS

Get a detailed impression since the final processed baseplate will be made from this impression.

Pouring Model

If you pour your own models, make sure that the land areas are no greater than 1mm above depth of sulcus. Carve the post-dam in the master model if not included in the impression.

Select Denture Base Shade

When you write up the work order, specify Eclipse and indicate the Lucitone® denture base shade desired (original, light pink, light redish-pink, dark pink or clear).

ADJUST BASEPLATE FOR FINAL FIT
Evaluate baseplate for:

  • Undercuts and border extensions
  • Tissue adaptation
  • Use pressure indicating paste if necessary

OCCLUSAL RECORDS
Adjust the wax rims to indicate:

  • Inter-occlusal distance between the upper and lower arch
  • Mid-line, canine marks and smile line

TRY-IN

Try-In will be sent to you in a light-safe bag. Keep it in the bag when not fitting or adjusting the appliance.

At try-in, the uncured denture (insert left) has a distincively different color than the final cured denture (insert right).

TRY-IN
Making Adjustments

If changes are necessary at chairside, use a heated water bath (110°F/40°C), NOT a Bunsen burner, to soften material to allow change. Move the resin. Do not push on the teeth.

Communicate tooth position changes to your lab prior to final processing.

TRY-IN
Adding Volume to Gingival Areas

If desired, add volume to the gingival areas with silicone putty. Do not use wax.

Taking New Bite Registration
If occlusion is not acceptable, posterior teeth can be removed for a new bite registration. Use silicone putty for new bite registration material. Do not use wax.

Return try-in to laboratory in the light-safe bag for adjustments or processing.

DELIVERY

If necessary at delivery, adjust denture base using normal procedures.

Eclipse can be relined or repaired using Eclipse or conventional acrylic resins
